This role is with one of the retail business units of the group.


This role will be on temporary contract on payrolls of a third party agency working with Al Futtaim. We require someone who can join us immediately or by end of October 2018


The purpose of this role is to maximise shareholder value and implement best practice corporate governance by supporting the business in coordinating and delivering robust strategic forecasts, appropriate investment and funding strategies, consistent governance through DOA and internal controls, provision of analysis and reports, communication and strategic advice, across the business division.


Key Accountabilities


  • Business Planning and Analysis

Strategic business planning including budgeting, forecasting, and investment proposals (if required)


  • Accounting, Reporting, and Compliance

Full accountability for accurate and timely accounting and business reporting in line with AF Group policies. Accountability for trade tax, corporate tax, VAT planning and execution.


  • Management Information Systems

Develop suitable business MIS to encapsulate all the key performance indicators, financial, commercial & operational.


  • Credit Management & Cash Collection

Oversee the strategy & performance of the invoicing & credit control functions, ensuring active collection techniques & minimal bad debt exposure.


  • Finance Staff Development

Identify & develop key individuals within the finance/BPM arena through mentoring & specific skills training.


  • Financial & Budgetary Controls

Promote sound financial husbandry throughout the business unit via the budgeting & forecast programmes, day to day issues, all matters relating to DOA.


Role Requirements


  • Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:

Internationally-Accredited Professional Accountancy Qualification / MBA in Business Administration with Finance Specilization


  • Minimum Experience

7 years’ + years in finance, with minimum 1 years’ experience in Retail operations is preferred


  • Job-Specific Skills

Numeracy, Analytical skills, Positive leadership, Team-builder, Commercial awareness


  • Behavioural Competencies
