Research Assistant Jobs Vacancy in United Arab Emirates University Al-Ayn Jobs Details:
The Civil Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking a research assistant in the area of Photogrammetry/Videometry. The main role of the Research Assistant will be to analyze images and videos recorded by UAVs over roundabouts. He should be able to use a .NET programming language to author a software that will track different types of vehicles and produce multiple statistics about the counts, locations, speeds, waiting times, lane changes, etc. from all directions of the intersection. The RA should be able to author iOS and android apps in addition to modify/update legacy C++ existing programs based on image processing and manipulation.
The duration of the research project is two years, staring from Nov 2016. Highly motivated applicants with B.Sc. or M.Sc. degrees in Computing/Engineering are invited to submit their applications to the position.
An appropriate educational degree supplemented with documented evidence to support the following:
- Very good technical writing skills
- Familiarity with image/video processing
- Familiarity with computer programming and algorithm design
- Willingness to learn different techniques and adapt to continuous changes associated with research demands.
